How Redis support works
Redis supports the newest releases and drops older ones as new versions come out, so end-of-life dates are often known only shortly before they happen. Several older lines in the table show no end date yet, or are already marked end of life.
Redis often runs quietly for years as a cache or job queue backend (Sidekiq, BullMQ, Celery), which makes it easy to forget. Since version 8, Redis is also available under an OSI-approved licence again, which matters if you build Redis from source or use a distribution package.
Above are the Redis release lines with their release date, latest version and, where announced, the end of support.

Redis EOL questions
Which Redis versions are still supported?
As of 5 Nov 2026: Redis 8.10, Redis 8.8, Redis 8.6, Redis 8.4, Redis 8.2 (until 1 Sep 2030), Redis 8.0 (until 1 Dec 2026).
When is the next Redis end of life?
Redis 8.0 reaches its end of life on 1 Dec 2026 (in 26 days). After that date it gets no more security fixes.
How do I check which Redis version I run?
Run redis-server --version or INFO server. Check every server and container image, not only your laptop: production often runs an older version than development.
Why do some Redis versions have no EOL date?
Redis announces end of support relative to new releases rather than on a fixed calendar, so the date is only published later. Those versions show as supported until a date is known.
Is Valkey covered here?
No. Valkey is a fork of Redis with its own release schedule.
